Hi, I’m Erika
Everyone always asks me how and why I learned to cook. I started cooking when I was pretty young but I didn’t really start learning more in-depth processes until I went to college. You’d be amazed at how quickly learning to really cook becomes attractive once you’re faced with eating top ramen and burnt popcorn every night! I don’t do anything halfway, so I researched and experimented and just kind of never stopped learning.
I got my first sous vide circulator my junior year of college and fell in love with the technique. Since then, much of my focus has been on developing sous vide recipes. I love the versatility of this tool — more experienced cooks can get extremely creative but complete beginners are guaranteed perfection every time.
I grew up in Santa Barbara, California and moved to Texas in 2016. Dallas is home now and I live here with my frenchies, Hudson and Henri (it’s their world, I’m just living in it). If you see me around town be sure to stop me and say hi!
